Private Music Lessons

Music Lessons are scheduled through the individual instructors. Classes are private and are held at the Cultural Arts Alliance building on 98 Hayden Rowe Street. To schedule lessons call the instructor directly at the given number.

Acoustic and Electric Guitar

Rock, Blues, Jazz and folk styles. Learn all about chords, strumming patterns, finger picking techniques, scales, improvising solos, music reading and more! Learn how to play popular songs! Ages 8 and up. (bio)

$22/half hour, $35/hour (intermediate/advanced only)
Rock, blues, jazz, funk, folk. A new approach to guitar that is fun and gets you playing what you want. Get the fundamentals, learn songs, or brush up on skills and pick up some tips. The focus is on enjoying the guitar!

Electric Bass Guitar

Pete Sanderson (508-873-2411)

Fee: $40 per hour lesson or $32 per 45 minute lesson
Pete has 20 years of performing experience and is currently a member of one of Metrowest's premier bands. Pete's lessons typically include training in all styles of music and all types of playing technique. He uses a real world approach to teaching that prepares his students for actual performing.

Drums

Mike has eight years of experience teaching drums. He performs live in and around Cambridge and is recording a CD of original works. Mike provides all equipment for lessons.

Piano

Haim Alon Pickholz (508-435-3686)

Haim plays with George Benson group. He has 18 years teaching experience in classical and jazz piano for all levels and ages. He believes strongly in a well rounded repertoire and provides an unique and individual approach to each student.

Mainly jazz and classical styles. Jesse, a Berklee garduate, individualizes his instruction to meet the interests and needs of each student.

Nancy received her BA in Music from Susquehanna University and has 30 years teaching experience. She tailors music to the individual's tastes and firmly believes that piano playing should be FUN!

Voice

Ms. Vitale (BS, Music Education and Performance, Ithaca College) has taught voice at Cornell and Boston College. Her background includes choral conducting and arranging for children and adults, ballet and modern dance and theatre. (bio)

Violin

Judean LaSalle Feldman (508-872-8463)

The CAA is very fortunate to have Judean LaSalle Feldman join our teaching staff as a strings instructor. Judean has taught strings, and piano privately and for a number of school systems since 1979. Ms. Feldman plays the violin in numerous orchestras and ensembles including the Worcester Symphony Orchestra, Wellesley Symphony Orchestra, and the MetroWest Symphony Orchestra of Hopkinton.
Ms. Feldman will also teach piano and beginning viola.

Flute

Wendy J. Moran
Group Lessons Thursdays 3:30 - 4:15 pm
Open to students in grades 4 and 5
Fee $140 per six lessons
Lessons begin in October and are on going through out the school year.

Ms. Moran has been teaching and performing Music for over 30 years. Presently Ms. Moran provides private instruction in eartraining, voice, flute, and recorder, and is a music specialist in the Hopkinton Public Schools.

This is a fun and innovative flute method, based upon a recently published book. The students will learn special flute techniques, basic theory, and ensemble skills that develop musicianship. They will enjoy playing upbeat tunes and creative two-part arrangements with their friends!
