The Cultural Arts Alliance of Hopkinton will sponsor its Seventh Annual Juried Art Show this Fall! We welcome your participation and invite you to submit up to three works of art for consideration. Last year 77 pieces were accepted for hanging and more than $1,500 in cash prizes were awarded. A similar award structure is in place this year. Won't you join us in sharing the arts with our greater community?
Artists are invited to submit up to three works. Entries must have been completed within the last two years and must have not been entered in any previous CAA show. Approximately 70 works will be chosen for hanging.
Watercolors, Oils/Acrylics, Mixed Media: pastel, ink, mixed monotype, graphics, two or more different media. We will not accept three dimensional work or photography.
Best in Show- $400
First Place/Category- $250
Honorable Mention- $100 per Category
Viewers Choice- $100 (Awarded at the end of Show)
Sandra Delbridge (BFA), owner of Design Consultants, is a passionate supporter of the arts who enjoys promoting art to the greater community.
Dean Minor, award-winning watercolor painter who studied with McIvor Reddie and Tom O'Hara. Mr. Minor exhibits nationally.
Bill Pope, co-founder and director of the Zullo Gallery in Medfield. Mr. Pope is an experienced filmmaker and digital video instructor.
All work must be original and created by a living artist, 18 years or older. Please bring your work exhibit ready, framed, hand wired, and ready for hanging. All work must be accompanied by a completed entry slip and artist/agent must present artist receipt to pick up work. Work may not exceed 38 inches in any dimension including frame. The CAA reserves the right to refuse a work that cannot be appropriately accommodated or that is not ready for hanging. An art category must meet a minimum number of entries in order to qualify for a prize award.
All work must be hand delivered by the artist/agent to the CAA building, 98 Hayden Rowe Street, on Friday, September 2-4 PM or Saturday September 11 between 2-4 PM. We welcome artists to submit a biography card with their artwork.
Artist fee for submitting up to 3 pieces of work: Member's Fee $15. Non-Members $25.
Retail sales encouraged. A 20% commission will be deducted from all sales and will benefit the CAA.
Artists will be telephoned/e-mailed only if work submitted has NOT been chosen for the exhibit. All work not chosen must be picked up Saturday, September 18 between 2-4 PM. Work included in the exhibit must be picked up on Sunday, October 3 between 4-5 PM. A storage fee of $10.00 will be charged if work is not claimed properly.
Entry of artwork in the exhibition constitutes an agreement by the artist that any work may be photographed and that the CAA may use the photo for any publicity purposes without remuneration to the artist. All entries are submitted at the risk of the entrant. The CAA shall not be liable for any loss or damage to any artwork occurring while that work is in the possession of the CAA. Arrangements for insurance, if any, covering artwork submitting the artwork submitting the the work. The CAA will exercise due care in handling all submitted work. All submitted works must remain until the end of the exhibition.
